SEA Makerthon is a regional event that aims to increase Brand Awareness especially in the sustainability industry, build Brand Communities with the interest in innovation and technology and tap on Local Makerspaces who potentially can build strong communities across different age groups.
With the theme “Designing a World with Zero Waste”, this year’s competition focuses on a world with sustainable products and business models. This approach, based on the Circular Economy philosophy where materials are used more efficiently, aims to encourage Southeast Asian makers to design products that encourage lifelong innovative business solutions.
About 100 to 150 people from across 10 cities in Southeast Asia will work in teams to prototype solutions for specific problems in the 36 hour innovation sprints. As in Cambodia, the specific theme for SEA Makerthon is “Making Products for Agriculture and Rural Communities” that focuses on making products/services for agriculture or rural communities.
As part of EZECOM’s vision to lead the development in Cambodia’s technology combining corporate integrity and financial growth, we believe that this event will bring innovative makers in the region together to build stronger Brand Communities and explore more creative ideas for development.
