BarCamp Cambodia has been held annually in Phnom Penh since the first edition in 2008. In 2012 the first BarCamp was held in Siem Reap and in 2013 BarCamp was held in Battambang and Kampong Cham for the first time. With the introduction Kampot and Ratnakiri in 2014 BarCamp has become a truly national event.
Bringing together people from across the technology spectrum, from established players to new innovators, creates a platform for all stakeholders in the IT industry to share information and knowledge.
USAID is a key supporter of the BarCamp events with academic and corporate sponsors, including Ezecom, helping to ensure the success of the event.
“Any forum that brings together such a broad range of IT stakeholders is good for Cambodia – which has a very young, digitally-savvy population who know that their future is a digital one. We are very proud to be involved in this event and wish it the very best success,” said Ezecom CEO Paul Blanche Horgan.
BarCampRatanakiri will take place on the weekend of December 20-21 at the Build Bright University campus. Registration is available online at http://www.barcampcambodia.org/ratanakiri/.
Ezecom, Cambodia’s leading internet company, is dedicated to supporting Cambodia’s digital future and has extended free internet connectivity to Cambodia’s top universities – reaching over 65,000 students. It plans to extend this network to high schools and other institutions in the near future. Ezecom also supports many organisations dedicated to improving the lives of the nation’s underprivileged children.
