Cambodia’s leading communications company, Ezecom, is helping bring FOSSASIA 2014 – a major international summit for technology innovators and entrepreneurs – to the country’s capital city from February 28-March 2.
FOSS stands for Free and Open Source Software and FOSSASIA 2014 is a free event that will give Cambodian students and web developers a chance to network with international experts to exchange ideas on developing software and hardware that can improve people’s lives in the country.
Past editions of FOSSASIA have attracted thousands of participants and hundreds of speakers from major tech companies like Google, Mozilla and Linux.
This year’s event, which will be held at Norton University, will feature a hands-on ‘Hackday’ on March 2 where participants will learn how to make apps, how to build local computer networks without internet access and how to launch a technology start-up.
“Given the key role that Ezecom plays in connecting Cambodia to the world through our internet and mobile services it is natural that we would participate in FOSSASIA 2014,” said Ezecom CEO Okhna Paul Blanche-Horgan.
“As well as bringing international experts to Phnom Penh FOSSASIA will showcase to the world the incredible talent and innovation in Cambodia,” he added.
Ezecom is a Diamond Sponsor of FOSSASIA 2014.
