EZECOM, Cambodia’s leading supplier of communications services, is proud to be associated with Startup Weekend, a global grassroots movement of entrepreneurs designed to teach the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures.
Startup Weekend is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs in the world, with over 400 past events in 100 countries around the world in 2011.
The latest Startup Weekend will be held this coming weekend, from Friday 22 November to Sunday 24th November, at the Yellow Tower on Chroy Changva. The whole weekend will be dedicated to networking, honing pitches and developing projects.
Overseen by a network of professional mentors and judges with years of experience in business in the region, the event culminates in a prize-giving ceremony to award the teams that have done the best work.
Okhna Paul Blanche-Horgan says the ethos of Startup Weekend is prefect for Cambodia: “We’re proud to be associated with an event that can help Cambodia so much,” he said. “Cambodia has a desperate need for entrepreneurs to help to develop the country, to provide jobs, training and experience for the future, and Startup Weekend is a perfect way to help to do that.”
The non-profit Startup Weekend organization is headquartered in Seattle, Washington but Startup Weekend organizers and facilitators can be found in over 200 cities around the world.
Whether entrepreneurs found companies, find a cofounder, meet someone new, or learn a skill far outside their usual 9-to-5, everyone is guaranteed to leave the event better prepared to navigate the chaotic but fun world of startups.
EZECOM was launched in 2007 and has since become one of Cambodia’s leading suppliers of communication services. EZECOM offers fibre optic, WIMAX and internet-based solutions to companies and consumers across Cambodia.
