Impact Hub Phnom Penh will launch its first online learning platform at the end of this month. A unique learning management system, it will allow impact-makers nationwide to access original online courses in the Khmer language, with the goal of sparking inspiration and enabling young people to start and grow impactful initiatives.
“The reason we’ve taking our programming content online is driven by our desire to scale our impact beyond our current physical reach in Phnom Penh. There is an inspiring young generation across the country who could benefit from Impact Hub’s vast network, knowledge and support systems, and thanks to an online platform we believe we can serve them. We hope we can make informative, high quality, engaging content accessible to all Cambodians who would like to create a positive impact in their community, regardless of location and language.” - Olivia Hough, Managing Director, Impact Hub Phnom Penh.
Launching on the 30th January 2019, the platform will be free for all to access. The first course to feature on the site will be ‘21st Century Leadership’ (supported by the British Embassy in Cambodia and Ezecom), the result of a nationwide research of leadership practices in Cambodia, and how young leaders today can best equip themselves with the mindsets necessary to become an inspiring and supportive leaders.
“The subject of leadership, I think, is one of great importance and should be taken seriously by everyone – whether we are actually currently holding a top management position or not. I believe that every adult is a leader in some way,” said Mr. SOK Yeng, representative of EZECOM, which is a main sponsor and supporter of the project.
EZECOM has been an avid supporter of this project and has sponsored other Impact Hub projects and programs in the past. The company’s CSR efforts have been impressive and diverse, but the company has been particularly keen in promoting education, human resource and technology-related projects.
“EZECOM is Cambodia’s Premium Internet Provider, and we’ve been providing quality internet services to customers for over a decade in Cambodia. From the beginning, we have been a mindful company with regards to our corporate social responsibility. And we will continue to be that way so that more success stories like today may be realized,” added Mr. Yeng.
Courses will be added throughout the year, focusing on topics from innovation and impact to technology and investment, valuable for aspiring or established impact-focused initiatives. Each course will be supported by local and international partners to bring a diverse range of knowledge and experience to the platform.
